Why do I have a “Protected by reCAPTCHA” Icon on my website?

Google reCAPTCHA v3 is an invisible antispam captcha tool that does not require the visitor to solve a puzzle or prove they are a Human. The captcha by necessity uses a cookie and under the reCAPTCHA terms of use users must be made aware of this by using the reCAPTCHA badge which is placed automatically on the website.

It is most likely that we – or your developer – installed and configured reCAPTCHA v3 to protect a contact form such as Contact Form 7 from attracting large quantities of spam messages.

You may hide this following the steps outlined in the terms of use “as long as you include the reCAPTCHA branding visibly in the user flow“. We do not recommend hiding this or disabling the Captcha
